Step-by-Step Guide to Perform Vajikarana Therapy
1. Preparation Stage
First, consult an Ayurvedic doctor for a full assessment of prakriti (constitution), vikriti (imbalances), and reproductive health via pulse diagnosis and history.
Next, undergo a detoxification if needed, avoiding therapy during acute illness, frailty, or without medical supervision.
2. Purification Phase (Shodhana)
At this stage, gentle internal oleation is done with medicated oils or ghee to lubricate channels. It starts with the gradual intake of herbal ghee/oil, followed by swedana to soften tissues and release ama, i.e toxins.
3. Fortification Phase
This stage involves utilising vajikarana formulations like herbal ghees, milk tonics, churnas or tablets for 4-8 weeks, taken twice daily with warm milk/ghee.
Then, therapies like abhyanga, vrishya basti or uttarabasti are performed, followed by regular monitoring by experts.
4. Supportive Practices
This stage involves using supporting practices like following a sattvic diet, such as milk, ghee, almonds, dates, pomegranate, wheat, rice, and sugarcane juice. Avoid consumption of salts (except rock salt), buttermilk, spicy/bitter foods, alcohol, and caffeine.
Try to practice yoga like vajroli mudra, light exercise, abhyanga, early sleep (7-8 hours), and regulated intimacy. Include mental supports: affectionate interactions, music, meditation for stress reduction.
5. Monitoring and Duration
Continue by tracking improvements in vitality, semen parameters, and dosha balance over 1-3 months via follow-ups; cycle annually for sustenance. Discontinue use if side effects like digestive upset occur, and avoid self-medication due to dosing risks.
Side Effects of Doing Vajikarana Therapy
- Adulterated herbs or wrong doses during this therapy can cause stomach upset, headaches, allergies, e.g., nuts, shellfish in ghee, or drug interactions affecting absorption.
- Also, people between 16 to 70 years of age can do this therapy. It is not advisable for people after 70 years.
- Overuse without cleansing leads to tridosha imbalance, muscle weakness, joint looseness, excess fat, or ojas depletion, causing low immunity.
How to improve the effect of Vajikarana Therapy
- Vajikarana Ahar: In Ayurveda, Acharyas advise milk, ghee, Khira (sweet pudding), Sathi variety of rice, Black gram, meat, meat juice, etc. All these diet increases the Vajikarana effect.
- Vajikarana Vihar: The environment or the act that makes one happy in mind exerts the Vajikarana effect, such as a hilly area, pleasant gardens, a gentle body massage, a bath, and women having all the requisite.

If you are a man looking to improve your sexual wellness, then Vajikarana therapy is one of the effective ways you should try. This therapy will help address the sexual challenges of PE and erectile dysfunction. It will also help improve your stamina and improve your performance.
