Performance anxiety is more common than most men admit. It can be developed from fear of not performing well, past negative experiences, stress, or even from overthinking. This mental pressure can affect your sexual stamina, timing, and erection.

Ayurveda says that performance anxiety is a symptom of mind-body imbalance, which is associated with Vata Dosha, which governs your nervous system.

To deal with this problem, this blog will guide you through Ayurvedic Solutions that promote calmness for the Vata dosha. Let’s dive into:

1. Pranayama

Breathing is the easiest way to calm your mind as it directly eases your nervous system, which is responsible for commanding the brain. Once you learn to control your breathing, your mind becomes calm. You can use the following breathing techniques:

a) Anulom Vilom (Alternate Nostril Breathing)

Anulom Vilom is an alternate nostril breathing technique that balances both sides of the brain and immediately reduces stress. Performing this technique can slow down racing thoughts and capture your full attention, stabilising your breathing and reducing overthinking.

How to do:

  • Sit comfortably, close one nostril, and inhale from the other.
  • Then switch nostrils and exhale.
  • Practice for 5 minutes daily.

b) Bhramari (Humming Bee Breathing)

Bhramari is a humming sound that is produced while breathing. These humming sounds send your brain a signal where a good-feel chemical (endorphins and serotonin) is released by which your mood automatically, and you feel calm.

How to do:

Sit comfortably and do 5-7 rounds daily, especially before bed.

c) Deep Belly Breathing

When men are anxious, they tend to breathe shallowly from the chest, which further increases the tension. In this case, deep belly breathing helps a lot in stress reduction; this can calm your mind within minutes and improves heart rate.

How to do:

Take 15–20 slow, deep breaths every morning or before a performance.
